Bob, Kevin. Agree to disagree. Just keep in mind that facts can also be opinions. Just depends on how many, and who, vote for the fact to be a fact.  I really enjoyed watching Paul put it together. I'm betting Nigel was busy as heck making quick adjustments before Paul started doing another take. At 67 years of age (I'm about to turn 67) it's what I consider quite a feat for him to have that much energy and also great stage presense. The most important thing is the crowd really enjoyed themselves while he did that. Good on 'im I say. Last, as for the quality of that work he did, How well do any of you think it would have been if you had done the recording exactly the way he did it? Think of the time spent in making this happen. Not much time for redos or tweaks. The man has great talent. I can play a guitar and bass. He was able to play drums and piano as well. I can play some keyboards but nothing like Paul did. He did it all in 1 take each, so far as I could tell. Yeh. Good on 'im I say. And good on ya Scott for puttin' this up there.

In viewing the video only here my thought is that there are many people out there that would just enjoy being in the presence of the ex-Beatle doing what he did in a day's work.
On the musical front, Paul was not one you went to for depth. You went to him for the silly, fun love songs with the contagious hook lines. I still love his stuff even when he is just jamming on the a rough track. I think he captures the essence of what mostly has been lost in music... fun! He has a geniunely good time with it. I admire him for that.
I hope when I am in my late 60's to be having as much fun playing music as he does.

I liked it too.
I'm relatively new to BIAB and recording and such and it gave me just what I needed to know about multi-track recording since I've never actually seen it done professionally before.
I've been a musician since I was 9 years old and I'm 51 now so ... hum, that's how many years? Anyhow, I've never actually seen it done before, but I'm only a musician.

I loved the Beatles as a whole. Didn't care too much for them separately although they had a good song or two.
A favorite story.... I never thought George was that great a guitar player but, to me, his leads were so original. We used to say, "man, he's so original" when listening to songs such as 'Michelle.'
My assumptions were shot down when I read that while recording Michelle, they were trying to come up with a lead and George Martin suggested the lead for it. Oh, no! George also played the lead for 'In my life.' And many more.
IMO, he should of had songwriting credits for the work he did. Sort of like 'Whiter Shade of Pale.' That song would not be the song without the lead and the organist was not given songwriting credit. He took the writer to court for credit/royalties and didn't get it. Then went back to court and did get it. I haven't heard the latest. There's more to a song than lyrics/melody and without the musicians contributing all those 'hot licks/riffs' the song, by itself, don't make it.

Well, I'm a sheep dipped Beatle fan. And I found Scott's comments prety much spot on. Not taking away anything from their dues paying, George Martins guiding influence, etc. but when you think of the originality of the material on Revolver, the white album, Abbey Road, Rubber Soul, Peppers, and all the rest of their group output, this material in the studio is just drivel by comparison.
(And BTW Scott, last year I actually got to see The Who in concert here in Melbourne. An outdoor gig at night in a sports ground after the Australian Grand Prix. That's a band I first took notice of in the 60's when I was just a kid and I heard "I Can See For Miles" on the radio. So it was an incredible occaision for me, very powerful. They took about 2 hours, basically played the Who hit songbook with a number of rarities, some excerpts from "Tommy", (delightful) and also a few songs from "Endless Wire". I'm not sure about the Superbowl lineup but here they had Zac Starchy on drums, (very different and younger sounding drummer from his illustrious dad) Pino Palladino on bass, like WOW! and Simon Townshend, Pete's brother also on gtr.- didn't seem to hear much from him. But a sensational night and interesting to see a cross generational crowd all groove to a band from the 60's and now in their 60's.
I felt sorry for Daltrey as he just cannot make the high notes anymore but gives it everything, lots of kudos from the crowd for his intense effort and left the stage visibly soaked in sweat so you know he's working it.
Also a brilliant light/graphic show and just hard to describe to see Townshend up there in person windmilling away at his gtr and leaping about with those bunny hops he does. The part of me that's still 18 was in raptures.
Definitely on my list of the 20 or so bands you must see before you die.
