For what it's worth, I visited a Pro Tools studio this past week to see how all that's done. I'm interested in getting into computer-based recording. Anyway, the head guy was showing me many demos and how they approach recording. I was particularly interested in the pitch correction software. He said they run that in the background on every vocalist, no matter how experienced or style of music. He said he'd never seen a vocalist who didn't need a little help here and there.
