I do not have this probleme with the windows version via VMware fusion ??? somebody has an idea ? it happens with "Mac OS CORE MIDI" or "Apple DLS Synth" ?

Hello,
I am not sure why it would sound like that. If you render your song to m4a or aiff do you hear that sound in the rendered file?

With the song playing, select the Bass part at the top of the screen, and try choosing different patches (e.g. 33-acoustic bass, 34-fender bass, etc.). Does the noise happen for each patch, or just one in particular?
Are you sure this isn't a problem with your computer speakers?

How about if you play the MIDI file with Quicktime or iTunes? What is selected in System Preferences | Quicktime | Default synthesizer? What OS do you have?

In System Preferences --> Quicktime, is 'Quicktime Music Synthesizer' selected, or something different?

I see, Snow Leopard doesn't have a Quicktime Preferences there. Hmmm.... I'm not sure what is causing the problem. Since it happens when you play a MIDI file with Quicktime player, then we know it isn't a Band-in-a-Box specific issue. It seems to be some kind of issue with the MIDI synth ('Apple DLS synth') on that Mac. You might try asking the question on a Mac forum. Or perhaps you could email us (support @pgmusic.com) a short audio sample (.m4a) file to listen to...
