CRUISIN' https://soundclick.com/r/s82dhrThis is a remaster of a song I posted in 2017...I thought it needed another facelift...it was inspired by the days when we aimlessly 'cruised' in our dad's cars till we could afford our own, then we cruised some more, around in circles over and over,,,I thought that was a great metaphor for life...as with all of my songs it is blatantly and unashamedly about Jesus...hope you like. Produced the track with my Yamaha Tyros 5 and BiaB I used: BARGPFX.STY Baritone Guitar pop w/FX 684 Bass...686 Organ...Real Drums Nashville even 8 @ 120bpm...405 Acoustic guitar...2499 Baritone electric... 509 Electric Rhythm Dire...1058 Alto Sax Smooth Jazz Poppy I added: Vocals and piano Muted Electric guitar was added by my friend Brent Weil Cruisin' words and music Dan Simmons Ooo...Whop...Bop (X4) Cruisin'...cruisin' my life away Misusin' most of my time Losin'...I was playing a losing game Wasting away my life Cruisin' on down the line Searchin'....searchin' down every road Hopin'...hopin' to find Someone...someone to share the load To give me some peace of mind Cruisin' on down the line I didn't know where I was going I couldn't see cause I was blind Jesus came into my heart He gave me a brand new start He brought direction to my life Movin'... now I'm movin' down a new highway I'm groovin' feeling alive It's so soothin' cause I know He knows the Way I'm still cruisin' but I'm letting Him drive Cruisin' with Jesus this time Ooo...Whop...Bop (X4) I didn't know where I was going I couldn't see cause I was blind Jesus came into my heart Gave me a brand new start He brought direction to my life Now I'm movin' down a new highway Oh, I'm groovin'...Feelin' alive It's so soothin'...I know He knows the Way Well I'm cruisin'...but I'm gonna let Him drive Cruisin' with Jesus this time! Sounds great, Dan. Smooth backing and excellent vocal. I'm a fan of the Rock and Roll Trio as well as Johnny's solo work. Another rocker who died way too young.

A wonderful feel. Yes, I remember stopping for 2 gallons of gas and 2 packs of cigarettes for a buck. You weren't really cruisin' --just trolling. And you picked up the best navigator. Blatant, unashamed AND inspirational, Dan. Love the band AND the muted guitar was well placed.

Loved it Dan, and man what a production! Another great mix and so many surprises. They way you brought in the piano, the muted guitar and organ really stuck out to me, as well as another great vocal - it brought a smile.

Dan, Well done. I think it's the 1st time I've heard DoWop Gospel  Nice vocals. BGVs are really nice (I like the reverb you've used for the main vocal). Sax was a nice way to end. Good mix. Solid. fj

Cool tune Dan. Love how you switch up the genres. Your vocals and harmonies are perfect for this style of music. Loved the way you mixed the piano. Gave the song a 3 dimensional feel. Well done.
