If you back up your data daily, you might be able to find it on your backup and restore it that way.

I use a Microsoft app called SyncToy every day. It creates duplicate files of the folders I designate on an external drive. The first time takes a while.

Then at the end of the day, any changes I made to the files on my computer's HD are changed on the external. This only takes a couple of minutes.

If I accidentally screw something up, I can open the external drive, and drag and drop from the external to replace the file I changed.

This has saved my butt more than a few times.
