I have premade wave stem files that I am using to import into BIAB. And then I'm using BIAB to enter the chords and lyrics and create a lyric video. I import all 9 files into the utility tracks and they play just fine but then I can't line them up with the bars in BIAB because the only way to do this is if all the tracks are on one file. I did this and that's fine but what happens if one instrument is too loud. Now I can't use the mixer window to adjust my mix as needed. I have to go back into another program and combine all the wave files into one file again and import that mix into one track in BIAB.

It would be so nice to have the barline changes apply to all the other utility tracks. This way I can keep each instrument in it's own track rather than have to put them all together first before I import the audio file. Thanks. smile

This makes sense, both the request and your understanding of the process. I would have done the mixing in a DAW and brought one track into BIAB, as you are aware, but you are correct that sometimes you just need to tweak a track based on new changes. It would indeed be nice to be able to do that within BIAB without using the audio editing tools.

This is an area of which I believe the developers are aware. The many Utility Tracks were just added, and the concept is for 'all tracks to be equal', but we have had many discussions on how to do that. The F5 bar settings dialog would need to be far larger and tracks use some new numbering system. Or we would need volume automation and a MIDI control surface to ride faders. The basic problem I see is created by feature creep, where the new features are causing reevaluation of the original way legacy tracks were handled. It is my hope that requests like yours, and all the other discussions we have had about this concept, will result in a different way of handling all the tracks in BIAB 2023.

BIAB has the option to align individual audio files imported into the Audio Track and all 16 Utility Tracks.

In your example, you should import the stems into Utility Tracks 1-9 and from the Audio Editor;
Place the curser at Bar one of the audio file
Right Click anywhere in the Wave Form Window and select "make this point as Bar 1 of the song .." option

Repeat for each of the other 8 imported audio files and this aligns each track's bar 1 to Bar 1 of the BIAB Chord Chart

Ok. I figured it out! It's a little weird and maybe the developers can work on this for the next update. smile

1. Load up all the stems in cakewalk or whatever daw you have.
2. Combine all of the stems in the daw to create one wave file for reference. It can have the click tracks and cue tracks. It doesn’t matter. You’re going to delete it afterward.
3. Open up a new BIAB file and set the tempo as close as possible to the song.
4. Import the wave file you just made in your DAW to the Audio Track in BIAB.
5. Then go the audio view and go through the ACW mode just to add the barlines while you listen to the song. After you enter the barlines. DO NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE. Do not equalize the temo
6. After your barlines have been entered, right click on the audio track and go to track actions and delete track. This will delete all the audio in that track but it will still keep the barline changes you just made and it will enable you to add other audio in the utility tracks.
7. Now all you have to do is add the individual stems in each of the utility tracks.
8. Now you have a chord sheet that matches all of the individual audio files so you can transpose the song, make a video, enter lyrics, and most importantly be able to mix the volumes on each of the tracks as needed.

Ok. I take that back. I'm still having trouble getting the barlines to match up with the multiple wave files that I've imported to the song. I need the barlines to match with all of the tracks because I'm exporting a video with lyrics. The manual bar lines that I am entering are only affecting the Audio track and not the other utility tracks. I tried this many times today and it just doesn't work. I can't just set the start of my song at a certain point and set the tempo because the song changes tempo slightly throughout so I have to enter the bar lines manually which is fine but it just sucks that the bar line changes do not effect the other tracks. I've been at this for about 4 hours today so I'm going to take a break. smirk

Yes. The technique I described relies on a constant tempo in which case the ACW is not necessary. If the tempo isn't constant, use the ACW to create a tempo map of the song. There's only one tempo map so only one track has to be analyzed to create a tempo map. Once that's done, all tracks will track the tempo BIAB is reading.

Multiple tracks imported will also have to be synced to bar 1.

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library.
