It would be useful for Band-in-a-Box to add a "Save As Variation" command to the file menu. This new feature should allow an existing song file to be saved under a user defined variation of the existing song file name. This eliminates the need for keyboard entry while a song is saved while being developed.
Users should be able to define "Save As Variation" data in Preference Settings. The settings should be flexible enough to permit both constant and variable characters. Variable characters should automatically increment with each successive use of the "Save As Variation" command. The program should save each song file in the same directory where the initial song file is saved.
