I hear people with perfect pitch singing like they were reading from a script.
A vocalist friend of mine once told me he had some free tuition from a Sadlers Wells opera tenor.
My friend sang him a song and the opera man said, "That was excellent. Now sing it to me like you love me."
My pitch isn't perfect so I have to, as you say, "mean it".

This is a powerful song. Very touching and introspective. I know there are a variety of ways you could have put it together, but I think you've chosen the best. The music really lets the words stand out.

What a beautiful song and write!
The lead vocal could use a slight EQ boost in the higher frequencies, but that's just a minor nit.
I also absolutely love the guitar soloist (very effective).
