Excellent tune Floyd. I loved the bass throughout. Your choice of instruments and when to put them in were great. I don't know if others would agree, but I thought it had a great Waylon Jennings feel to it. As usual, the writing is top notch.

A real sweet listen! Best to you & yours.

Thanks, Alan. Bill is, indeed, a fine writer. I did at least 20 songs with him, so there will be more to come...

This tune has in my mind got it all together. Great story that's well written and paired with a good melody that lights the mind with images. This is an excellent song to be heard on the radio, or whatever passes for radio these days. This is a good one Floyd. Standing ovation to you and the cowriter.

Loved how the fiddle comes in part way through the 2nd chorus and sticks around for the rest of the song, works a treat.

Listened a couple of times, enjoyed!

Thanks, Dave...

Great job on the mix, the music, and the song as a whole.

You and Bill paint such a vivid picture with the lyric. While listening we envision a horse ranch with Colorado mountains in the background. smile

A great write it is and by two great writers!

We love the arrangement and especially the stop with just your voice on the verse last lines.
And the bridge ... heart, mind and the rest of me. Cool.

The fiddle and banjo are quite nice and fittingly understated.

As the song progressed Janice was saying, “go back to her!”

As always, your vocals alone would sell the song.

That ole school can be a wonderful place to visit ... indeed.

Enjoyed it!

A very nice song, Floyd!

'Of course', I have to say, given all my compliments on your oeuvre.
But here your voice feels a bit lighter and also younger here.
I think that's what love does...

I love that fiddle that emphasizes the airy atmosphere of the song.
And, of course, very nice lyrics!

Actually not my preferred genre of music, but this one had me bobbing my feet after the first couple of bars, that means a lot I guess :-)

Technically I like your choice of instrumentation, it fits (as far as I can tell as a non-Nashville expert) this genre very well, as does you voice.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear this song in the commercial radio, it's really good!
