Joplinesque

This song was created as part of the 50/90 Challenge. I decided to see what would happen if I had Band-in-a-Box help me write a piano rag in the style of Scott Joplin. I used Melodist style 191 ("Scott Joplin - sustained") to generate a song in E♭ with an AABA structure and "acoustic piano" for the instrument. It sounded good but incomplete, so I saved this version of the song, transposed it into the key of A♭, and generated a new melody, leaving the chords intact. I saved this as version two.

Then I opened up Logic Pro, imported the two songs, and used some creative cutting and splicing to mash up the two songs. This is the result. I hope you like it.
