That's pretty crazy, Herb. Years ago, I used to frequent a bar in Albuquerque that featured this insanely creative and entertaining band of Mexican college kids who specialized in Polkas of all stripes, with serious drinking and lots of ah-hahs. These guys might be their off spring, though I wouldn't dare set foot or wheel within 50 miles of that city today. It's gone off the rails. Even the freeway by pass is nuts. If Mexico might be in the running for the variety of musical influences, I doubt anyone comes close to the good ol USA in that area. Heck, look at our favorite software! How many styles now? Must be hundreds, of all national origins. The Myanmar Christian music scene is fascinating. I mean, where else outside the Middle East would you go to a service and keep one eye on the door for traditionalists with machetes and fire bombs. Whole different outlook on things. Oriental Scales
