Most Windows programs use the Windows registry so Windows is aware of the program's installation and to assist the program in keeping track of program parameters.

None of the PG Music programs use the Windows registry. The benefit of this to you is you can run PG Music programs direct from an external hard drive on any Windows computer using program shortcuts stored on the external hard drive.

When a program does not use the Windows registry, the program should be installed into a folder located in the computer's root directory, normally c:\, instead of under the Program Files or Program Files(86) sub directory. Otherwise the program can run into permission errors because Windows thinks the program is malware.

Computer operating systems moved from 32 bit to a 64 bit programs. This created the need for two program folder structures; Program Files for 64 bit programs and Program Files(86) for 32 bit programs.

The 2022 PowerTracks program changed from 32 bit to 64 bit. That program is PT64.exe.

The 2020 PowerTracks program is 32 bit for everyone that has a computer running a 32 bit Windows operating system. That program is PT.exe.
