Nice!  I think the song is fine without the 3rd bridge. I think the repeat is stronger than adding new material, partly because repetition is good, and partly because I'm not sure the line "ivory tower" fits well here.

The song has a few quirks and edges, and that's exactly what I like about your song, it has a lot of charm!

That’s a lovely, melancholy melody and your heartfelt vocal brings the blues cafe to life, Vic.
As others have mentioned the piano and steel are standouts.

I've not been here a lot lately ... lots of medical issues for me and my wife. It was nice to see and hear a new one from you. The piano treatment was excellent and loved the acoustic lead. I've played in quite a few of these cry in your beer places.
I've been listening to you for, I guess, 10 or 12 years, and I think this is one of your very best. Very nicer, indeed.

I changed the instruments quite a few times ‘til I got it the way I wanted.
Swapped a fiddle for a string section and then the lap steel.
Used three different pianos and intercut them etc. ….
I thought at one time I would never finish it.

Great song !! The lyrics are excellent. The real track pianos are fantastic. the production is excellent.
