I was so sad to hear of your dad's passing. My father and I weren't close except for music and baseball. Other than those two subjects, it was a difficult relationship. He died in 1968. I'm so glad to hear your father and you were so close.

I'm sure he was looking down with a big smile. This is, by far, my favorite of all your posts in the 9 or 10 years I've been on this forum. I'm proud of you for holding it together to get this done so beautifully.

I'm the historian for our family. My earliest family came from Wales in 1743 and settled in the Shenandoah Valley. It is, indeed, gorgeous - but maybe not so much as your song.
