Did you import the melody from a midi file? If so, go to Editable Notation and view Soloist Track, click the "#" button to bring up the Edit Event List and take a look. You may have some midi data there that is overriding the BIAB settings. Using the Event Filter, and showing everything except notes, will make it pretty clear what's there. Best bet is usually to delete all events except for notes. That will put BIAB in control.
