I was so sad to hear of your dad's passing. My father and I weren't close except for music and baseball. Other than those two subjects, it was a difficult relationship. He died in 1968. I'm so glad to hear your father and you were so close.
I'm sure he was looking down with a big smile. This is, by far, my favorite of all your posts in the 9 or 10 years I've been on this forum. I'm proud of you for holding it together to get this done so beautifully.
I'm the historian for our family. My earliest family came from Wales in 1743 and settled in the Shenandoah Valley. It is, indeed, gorgeous - but maybe not so much as your song.

So sorry for your loss David. I lost my dad about 6 and a half years ago. It is the most pain I have ever experienced, and since my wife is younger and my kids still young, I hope I never will feel anything worse. Interestingly, I heard this song as a kid (possibly used for a TV series) and it has always been one of my favorites.....just beautifully melodic and emotional! Thanks for sharing this. I am always moved by your passion and creativity. Stay strong my friend. Take care. Greg

So sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad 5 months back . . . and it’s still hard. You are so right: Treasure and love everyone every chance you have. What a lovely tribute to your Dad—poignant. Sending all my best thoughts to you and yours.

David, I'm so sorry.
Your performance is raw and sincere, your tribute to your father ever so moving. I really hope someone will say a quarter of the things you said about him, when I myself pass away. He must have been a truly wonderful person.
