Great warmth in the mix and song as a whole. Great lyric.

For me, the busier drum track coming in was a little harsh for the song and I would have stuck with the original. Either that or brought it back in for the last verse or toned it down a couple of db.

Great stuff!

Vic

Thanks Vic

Well, y’all know we love the song and Janice is still walking around singing, “You have been my lodestar, shining in the dark.” (She says Leon’s phrasing on that lovely line are just perfect.)

From the haunting melody and the beautiful fiddle and your usual tasteful guitar to Leon’s lyric (that begs for a novel to tell the whole story) we appreciated being asked to be a part of this song.

Loved it!

Peter,Leon & Janice,
A wise, witty and well told tale- I found the relaxed pace suited the world-weary subject.
Janice adds her signature sweetness to the chorus and Leon`s lead vocal has character and is well captured in the mix.
An enjoyable ramble through a life`s regrets!

Peter,Leon & Janice, this is music at its best.
Just the right amount of instrumentation to set the mood.
The vocals were spot on, the harmonies were perfect, and so was the mix.
Absolutely a brilliant collaboration.

Loved it.

This might sound a bit weird, but the vocal delivery reminded me a bit of if Boz Scaggs did a country-folk song - the reason I make that comment is the half-singing and half speaking vocal delivery in places. Of course totally different genres but still that characteristic of your vocal on this one brought that to mind. Could be the neurons in my brain are playing games, but that's what thought as I listened.

Regardless - this is a really cool song. Totally enjoyed my listen.

A lonesome road but there are some touches some light humor.

I can see your audience nursing a beer or a bottle of whiskey in a cowboy bar.

Nice work all around!

Excellent lyrics, I really like the different kind of story, touches like it was told straight from heart and still has sort of irony that makes me smile.
Enjoyed the band and the vocals. Janice really brings her extra magic to the already catchy chorus.
