Try the "Print" options and double-check that chords, notes, staff lines (#2 on the image below) are activated.
If that doesn't help, under the "Options" menu on BIAB's upper-most toolbar (where File, Edit, Play, etc., are found), there are choices to return BIAB to Factory Settings. Try this. Click on the "MOST" choice to begin with as that will keep your audio and MIDI drivers set up intact.
