By "tails" I mean both the horizontal and vertical extensions to the notes that appear on the staff. I've tried a few keystroke combinations, but I haven't hit on any that allow me to grab these "tails" and lengthen or shorten them. Instead, I have to right-click on the notes and make adjustments in the window that appears.
So, just wondering if this were possible -- cuz it would be a real time saver if I were able to do this. And if this isn't possible, maybe this is a feature the wizards at PGM should consider adding?
'Vertical' changes to notes in any mode would be pitch changes, so I'm confused. The Piano Roll Mode is an ideal place to adjust (horizontally) the start and stop times of a note, but it can also be done with numbers in Editable Notation Mode. However, if you are trying this with RealNotation, the notation provided for educational purposes with some RealTracks, it won't do anything. Tell us more, please.

I do agree that the O/P is referring to the Notation display, and the vertical bar controls note velocity and the horizontal bar controls note length. The question related to using key strokes to adjust these values, which I'm not aware is possible.

Thanks, now this makes sense (I rarely use the Piano Roll). I agree, I do not know if you can make these adjustments with keystrokes, only the mouse. Does any other program do that?

Tnanks, Noel, that's exactly what I was looking for and it's even easier than I hoped. I just tried it out and it works great! What a time saver!
BTW guys, I've never used the Piano Roll and I never plan to either. I prefer composing and editing from the staff, and BiaB's ingenious Staff Roll Notation Mode makes things quick and relatively effortless for somebody like me. I just wish BiaB had an orchestral version, so I could work on really complex stuff with that editor. But then, after all I tell myself, it is BAND in a Box. I suppose such a new version would have to be OiaB or SiaB or something.
