I love the quote of Summertime in the beginning of the blues harp solo.
Marty is the right voice - good pick.
It's a classic blues arrangement and there's NOTHING wrong with a 12 bar ramble particularly when it's this well put together.

Very nice title and lyrical story built around it. I was worried that you had taken my idea, but luckily it is from a different angle. "Yeah I've had my chances, life gives you a tease/Each time the dream got shattered, I went to my knees", especially those lines hit hard.
Enjoyed the superb raw harmonica solo and Marty's excellent blues voice (nicely effected). Great mix, the low end sounds fantastic.
Blues is not my favorite genre, but this surely is one of my big favorites in that category.

I like blues, always have.
Without having heard your original vocals, I have to say that Marty is a good choice, he really got the blues.
I'm a bit on the fence about your choice of mono. Part of me would prefer proper stereo panning, the other part likes the bar-down-the-street raw live recording quality.

Thanks to everyone for their kind comments on this tune. I was hesitant to post a straight I-IV-V blues here because it's a bit boring, but I'm glad it was so well received. I usually like to switch up the blues with some novel chords, but I felt this was what the song called for.
The really good news is that the song hit #2 on Soundclick's Blues Chart. I have never had a song score that well there. Really stoked about that.
Again, thanks to all who listened and commented. And especially thanks again to Marty for singing lead!

Cool tune.
Marty nailed the vocal.
That harmonica solo was so good, I had to go back a give it another listen. I haven't heard many or I think any harmonica solos here that weren't a BIAB track.

Great collab y’all! Love the lyric, the band, and Marty’s vocal. Your harmonica was awesome - you should play on more songs! We lost a friend who was a terrific blues harp man so when we say awesome we mean it. We love the blues and even more so when the arrangement is sparse -- guess that's why we are so fond of trios  This b-side is A+ J&B
