Good song, excellent lyric, and arrangement.
Might be my headphones but the vocal was a bit far back (or maybe a bit too much reverb?) especially on the chorus.
The chorus has a really good melody.
Good one.

Not quite sure what to say about that vocal volume.
I have listened to the sound on numerous devices and it is where I want it to be.
I played the next to last version for my wife and we both thought the vocals were a tad too high. I did not like it.
I used Vocal Rider by Waves on the vocal bus and it also thought the vocals were too high again the mix by about 1.5 dB. So, I let it do its thing and I am pleased with it.
My wife has a very high end stereo system in her car, and it sounds great there. It also sounds great on my phone, and my laptop, so I think I am business.
I appreciate the feedback though.

The rumors are true - another great write sung with passion.  A nit - the mix feels off, but it's not a balance thing. The guitars and cello sound like they're close miked, but the vocal sounds distant. So hearing all the detail from the guitars but not from the vocal seems wrong. Maybe adding some midrange boost to the vocal would help give it more presence? Anyway, minor nit. Love the song!

This is such a good song!! Your trademark passion in the write and performance ( your vocal level sounds right to me)- and the personal touch of your guitar is a reminder you are a musician too.
I hear some of the mixcrits, but this affirms so much that`s good about songwriting, it left me feeling fine.

David,
One of your top writes, in my humble opinion. Some sweet things going on in the arrangement—that cello in particular is wonderful. As far as the arrangement, the overall production is fine, but I would love to hear a bit more layered approach on the mix, more of a build. You have everything going on at once from start to finish—or so it seems to me. And things get a little lost, the vocal in particular. Of course just my opinion—see what others think. But this is such a great tune—I think a little nuance in the arrangement would take it to another level. Very impressive write!

As so many have mentioned the lyric is excellent. This will be a standout on your album.

The above line was Janice’s favorite of many as she said it was a powerful statement.
Your vocal is very soulful and we thought it sat well in the mix.

What a terrific write and your presntation is wonderful. I my opinion, this is your very best vocal in quite some time. Youre vocals have a signature quality that defines you in an excellent way. And I think you put a little more spit and polish on this one.
