Since no one has responded yet, I am going to simplify the post so that it is easier to understand.
I have a large section of music that I would like to repeat, in its entirety. Inside this large section there is a repeat set up already (1st and 2nd ending repeat).
When I try to set up this 'large section repeat' BIAB seems 'confused' and doesn't know what to do.
I hope I made myself clear.
Guidance is appreciated.

I'm not an expert on using repeats because I always work on my songs in unfolded format where the song starts at bar 1 and then ends at whatever bar (usually around 80 - 100). I prefer this format as it gives me greater control over instrumentation and using F5 to create arrangements.
If you want to play through the whole song again, what you could do is simply to copy all the bars of the song and then paste them at the end of the existing song. This will give you a second half of the song that is identical to the first half.

Thanks for helping Noel. If I was just using the audio I would have no problems with copying sections instead of using repeats. I've done that many times in the past.
But in this case I actually fired up BIAB just to enter chords and do a transposition.
So I won't be using the audio side of BIAB, it's just for reading. Reading with repeats is much preferred (and less confusing for me) over long unfolded form.
BTW, the song in question is Billy Joel's 'Just the Way You Are'.

If it's just for reading, you might be better off using a dedicated notation app. Musescore is free and I find it excellent software. There are also good tutorials on Youtube for it.
To do what you want, I'd be using D.S. or maybe D.C. When I tried using those with mid-song repeats in place (in BIAB), the program didn't accept it. That sounds like it might be what you are doing. This could be a limitation of BIAB. I don't know the repeats aspect of BIAB well enough to appreciate its limitations.
There are several others that display in the list to the right of that video. It seems you possibly need a Coda rather than an ending from the short video I watched earlier.
The Help file from the 1st/2ns endings dialog page may also assist figuring out the best selection to the repeat correct.

Thanks Charlie and Noel. It's disappointing that BIAB doesn't seem to be able to achieve what I'm looking for (after 30 years of production).
I do have and use Musescore occasionally. If it can transpose the song once I have all the repeats in place, then it could certainly do the job I am after.
I'll open it up and see how the transpose function works.
