Hi, Noel.

Actually, I did very little custom editing. I actually turned off the AI option, because I thought the default version sounded better. It's less "real" and a bit more "auto-tuned", but I didn't think the AI imperfections worked here.

The backing is brilliant. Everything sits so well that it's a delight to sail along with the music as the song unfolds.

Thanks, that 99% BiaB. Those tracks play nicely together. laugh

You've sure got the knack! Every way I look and listen to this, it's a really fine work of art.

Thanks for listening and the support!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hi, Dave.

Yes, I think the latest versions have more personality and appeal. You can always shoot me an email if you've got any questions.

Good song overall, good write, doesn't need a chorus in my book.

Good to hear! smile

Nice choice of instrumentation too. Super slow tempo doesn't bother me, probably 75% of my songs are at super slow tempo's wink

Glad you liked it! Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment!

Hi, Scott.

Thanks! laugh

My kids can be pretty harsh critics of songs, but that's my fault - I trained them that way. wink

But it's nice to have positive feedback.

I'd heard some of Julee's work from "Twin Peaks" (and the Twin Peaks parody episode in "Psych"), but I haven't heard much else. I'll have to check her out.

I appreciate you stopping by and commenting!

You're good at this vocal synth.
I noticed from a previous comment that you haven't tinkered with the dynamics.
I think you should give it a try though.

Amazing!

We love Natalie’s voice! You mentioned the Carpenter vibe and we immediately noticed it also. Janice is a contralto so we tend to be quickly drawn in by that range.

What is equally amazing is the number of RT's. How you get such a dynamic cohesive sound from that is really noteworthy.

This is so good, David. It has a dreamy lyric, a dreamy melody and a dreamy vocalist. smile

Janice was enchanted by the lyric right off the bat. She noted that Natalie’s phrasing on the following lines was particularly effective:

“Down lazy rivers we glide”
“…the sun is so high”
“Leaving our shadows behind”

Awesome!

David...really, really nice! I can't add any more to what's been said...I'm still amazed by the technology that can be used to create this beautiful song...if it's not poetry then your prose works so well...I was so intrigued by Natalie the first time through that I didn't listen to the lyric...fascinated with her diction and voice variations I had to go back and listen to the song a second time...I liked every aspect of it...the band is so good with the style of piece you were presenting...Kudos man!

I'm going to have to learn how she sounds in the mid and upper registers, but I love that lower register.

It's probably because I'm too stubborn to just trim back on the number of tracks. wink

Having less tracks creates an airy and transparent sound, and you're one of the people who's really a master of that.

But thanks.

Yeah, but I imagine Janice could do it languid and with a bit of blues!

Thanks for the lovely comments! It's always nice to hear from you two! laugh

Hi, Dan.

It's amazing stuff, isn't it? This is stuff I only dreamed about as a kid.

Thanks! It's amazing how much character they've managed to retain from this singer.

And thanks taking the time to stop and listen! laugh
