I want to write a piece from scratch that will have 8 bars with a new bass note every 1/2 bar. Is there a way to put in specific notes in the right place using a RT upright bass instrument?
When I have used chord designations for each bass note and a style, then I get a BIAB rendition that has more than just the simple bass notes. Sometimes there are approach notes or other variations. I would like just a specific note in a specific place.
This would be a type of manual composing in BIAB. Is there a method or a resource you can point me to?
And also how do you preview and pick a specific Upright acoustic bass to play the notes if this is even possible?

If all this is doable, then I would like to add in a drum again picking something specific (jazz brushes).
You can use the PG sample library that comes with Biab add the Sforzando plugin, pick the Bass, add another Sforzando to a track, pick the Brushes kit then add the midi notes in the piano roll. You can also create UserTracks for these so you don't have to manually enter the notes each time.
The RealTracks are auto-generated only. In the 2022 version you can edit sections of them with the Playable RealTracks feature, but if you are going to write music for the whole length of the song then it is better to start with a MIDI SuperTrack instead.
Thanks Chantelle. I definitely want to use RTs instead of MIDI. So by your comments, can I auto generate the bass as you state and then remove an occasional approach note that occurs with this "playable RealTracks" feature?
I’m sure you know this, but just checking: with MIDI there are two main considerations: sound quality and performance. Everyone talks about sound quality, but some discount MIDI for performance reasons although the MIDI SuperTracks in BIAB are actually artist performances like the RealTracks.
