I played upright bass for decades in bluegrass bands at festivals and clubs. The bass guy in that context (and with no drums) provides the foundation or as I called it "glue." smile

Oh yeah Bud, I get the compliment totally, many thanks. I never heard that term in this context before. Seems like I'm learning left and right these days. Never heard "motif" in a musical context either until recently.
