Here is my MIDI/AUDIO Setup. With this setup (and only this setup!)
1) I can use Shift-Return to play the Chord from the Chord Sheet to Use VSTi/DXi soft synth [which by the way, is the box everyone should have checked]. But you need to setup the VSTi/Dx Synth properly. I use SynthFont: VSTSynthFont64 as you see in the picture. Best sounds and features no matter what anyone else tells you.
2) This setup will play the RT Pad from the "_Turnawy.sty Turn Away alternate 8ths build" on the Utility track with no additional sounds. <-- Your .SGU
3) This setup allows me to route my midicontroller keyboard to playalong with BIAB.
Its all in the picture. By the way, when you make any changes to these setting, close BIAB and reopen it for them to take effect.
I would be glad to provide a video if needed. But my narrations will be in english.
A hijack and a bit off-topic, but is there a way to make that 'stick'. My notepad always reverts to CoyoteWT on a restart, which is rather frustrating.

Actually, if this fixes SBM's issues, this may be the next logical question to ask.
Is VSTSynthFont64 installed?___________ What version do you have? ____________ (hint - to the best of my knowledge V3.20 was the last free version provided with BIAB. There is a newer $$ version with some new features, but it is not needed IMO). Good chance we can fix this, but historically BIAB midi routing is notoriously problematic. What you describe sounds familar.

OK, well on my Linux box which does seem to have the same "won't stick" issue with VSTSynthFont64.
Yes it's installed. It appears to be 3.430.
There's a slightly newer version. My notepad might be different.

That is the paid $$ version. Do you have the licence or perhaps it has timed out after 15 days as it suggests on the website? PGMusic provided the free install back in the day with an older version which I believe is the version I am using. Either way, I never purchased the license and my version has worked for years.
I just installed the newest version. In 15 days I will know if there is a need to purchase or delete or ... it is like Reaper.

Thank you. Your reply helped me a lot. I never checked Vsti Now I have made the same settings according to your prompts. Everything is normal. There is no VSTSynthFont64 in my computer. So I used SFORZANDO VST_ X64.DLL When I click SHIFT+ENTER, the sound is much better than before. When I play this style, there is no piano sound. Because I also chose "<No MIDI/sound output>" My problem has finally been solved. Thank you very much for using your precious time to help me!
I have a new question. Is there any way to make this VST pop up quickly. The steps I want to open each time are to click Options>>midi/audio driver setup>>select a plug-in, and then OK. I recorded a video.
I don't know of a faster/simpler way. You can get to the MIDI setup from the 'Misc.' tab also.
BIAB & RB2026 Win.(Audiophile), Windows 10 Pro & Windows 11, Cakewalk Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Session Keys Grand S & Electric R, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M, Pioneer Active Monitors.

thank you. thank you. I hope there is a faster way.
You should definitely consider making a post in the WishList section.

I think it doesn't time out, but one's in breach of the license.
Yes it's the paid version and yes I paid for it. Frustratingly I can't presently find the proof of that, though I licensed it along with SynthFont2, which I don't actually use :-/
It works just fine, but I have to choose it every time I restart BiaB.
I think I should end this here, maybe start a new thread. This thread is now marked resolved and I've hijacked it

Agree, I did double check this morning and the newest version, when set as the Default Synth does open as it should and remain the default after closing and reopening. So it remembers. I may start another thread to do one final sanity check for you.
Yes there is. R-Click on this section in the mixer will do it.
Thank you for your reply. This tip is very helpful to me. At present, the only problem is that if Scalar is used as the default synth, it will cause a jam and crash. I remember that you are also a scaler user. If you have time, please check to see if this is the case?
