Hello,
I wish : 1) have in BIAB a bank of chord cadences, in the different modes (minor, major, myxo, dorian ...) 2) to be able to inject these cadences easily into the BIAB songs. And if possible I would like to do it in the BIAB standalone app and not in my DAW via the BIAB plugin.
As unfortunately this is not native in BIAB, I have to find an external solution.
What is the best solution or plugin for this? I heard about Scaler 2, but according to some information gleaned from the Internet, the integration between BIAB and Scale 2 does not seem to be optimal.
Tanks for your attention

Those are some great ideas! We suggest posting your ideas on our Wishlist forum because the more people who agree with the ideas, the more likely they are to be included in future releases. https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=cfrm&c=3

BIAB already offers functions for working the ear, etc. Why not other features that would allow you to discover the harmonization of the different scales and the typical chord sequences for each mode?
There is nothing degrading in offering this kind of functionality, which would open the horizon of a lot of people who don't know the few magic chord sequences...
For my part, I think you have to be able to hear the needs of these people ...

I agree we need this, but it has to be done properly with a number of alternative layouts for simple to advanced level.
A good function that needs expanding is the chord builder "chord theory" section displaying chords for a given key on any root. You can click on each quickly in succession to audition a progression.
Its ok but limited; like almost everything in BIAB it's diatonic, not modal or chromatic. And progressions that modulate quickly or borrow from parallel modes aren't covered.
Better perhaps is the chord substitution dialogue box. There's Lots of intricate sequences replacing a simple II V I cadence. It's useful but diatonic and very "standard jazz" orientated.
If you're theory knowledge is up to it you can even alter the associated text file to include your own formulae. But it's very "1990" as far as user friendliness goes. No one works with software in this manner nowadays.
I think the latter text file needs to be worked up into a proper user interface and the preset suggestions more varied according to genre and sub-genre.

Incidentally For those inclined seek out an old program called Jammer Pro. It included a progression builder according to the basic modes. Quite good if I remember. Another shareware one called 'Jazz ++ midi sequencer is worth a look with extensive chord voicing remapping functions and chord progression builder displaying modal chords for all 12 keys linked by number of tones common to each chord. Very cool and very 'modern jazz'. Think Wayne Shorter!! Here's the you tube demo of Jazz ++ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzbp22L5SZ4

You could use any time signature and you could add as many musicians/tracks as you wanted. It is to bad it wasn't continued. I just looked at Jazz ++ and it took me back to the early Dr. T's sequencer days. Not hearing the instrument that you are playing is a real problem for me. I try to think like the musician playing the instrument but trying to play like a trombonist while hearing a Rhodes would mess me all up. YMMV
Whenever I get something stuck in the back of my throat, I dislodge it by drinking a beer. It's called the Heineken Maneuver.
64 bit Win 10 Pro, the latest BiaB/RB, Roland Octa-Capture audio interface, a ton of software/hardware
