You can do it.
Do your usual 'merge to stereo wave file' routine, name the file, then open that wave file in RB.
The audio edit window should let you do the start/stop edits.
If you can't seem to grab a close enough section adjust the resolution (under options)
Make sure your slider for the track (probably track 1) is adjusted up to suit the need before merging again (before merging again to get the final file)..
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
