Hi everyone here is a song I’ve written called: ‘You’re My Resurrection’. I guess this song is kind of an uplifting Gospel tune so I’m hoping you’ll enjoy it.

I used Band in a Box to record the track and I finished it off in Cakewalk.
I am using _DREAMYP.STY Style.
My RealTracks include:
Bass 684
Organ 686
Drums NashvilleEven8^8-a
Guitar 1 405
Guitar 2 543
Vocal Oohs 3064

The Vocal Chants at the beginning of the song are from a Roland FA 08 keyboard.

The Vocal Harmonies were also generated with Band in a Box. In the main window I clicked Harmony then Audio Harmony. I choose Harmonize based on Chords with Band in a Box Intelligent Mode.
In addition I also added extra harmony using the Vocal Harmonist function on the Roland G 70 keyboard.

Regards,
Dermot Mc Mahon

The change from chant to cant is abrupt and highlights the treatment of your vocal.
You've a pleasant voice and the melody works well.

Cheers

Really good, catchy song and very well sung. I'm on the fence about the Gregorian Chant intro. Maybe I'll get used to it with repeated listens. Points for creativity, though.

Hi, Dermot.

I love me a chant - Gregorian or otherwise - but I don't think it leads well into the main song.

Nice pop sound ('70s folk, anyway) with a catchy chorus. Nicely done.

Thanks for that Rayc. I'm actually singing the song on A but I recorded the chants on C. When I tried to change the chants themselves to A they sounded unnatural so I just left them unchanged.

Reply to TuneMonger, Thanks for your kind words. Actually I sang the song in A but the chants are in C. I tried to change them to A but they sounded unrealistic.

Thanks David for listening to my song. As I mentioned in previous replies I sang the song in A but the chants were recorded in C. When I raised the chants to A they sounded unnatural so I left them in C. Thanks for your advice.

Dermot, this sounds great

Super vocal, backing tracks, and mix

IMHO you do not need those intro chants. I don't think they add anything to your song and the song would be better without them. But that is only my opinion and others may or may not agree.

I really liked the song after the chants

Yep.... Cool up tempo song that is great by itself.

Loose the chant at the beginning it's like apples to oranges,
Cats to dogs, up to down.... In other words, it doesn't transition well from the dark chant to the bright peppy modern song. The change is too drastic.

I was expecting something different. But the song is good. Nice positive vibes and message.

Howdy Dermot,

I really like your song. It's got a catchy up beat tempo and message. I agree with what's been mentioned above. I like the chants, but the way it changes into the song is a little too abrupt. To my ear, it makes them sound out of place with the rest of the song. If you can't get them in the key that works, I'd consider leaving them out. The song stands well on its own, but again, that's just me.
