Terrific collaboration! Always tough to write something “Christmasy” . . . and though this is a sad song in a way, it definitely has that holidays sound and feel . . . and while sad, a certain sweetness to it as well. Great write . . . and nice work on the video as well.

A BIG Merry Christmas to you, Vic. I know David mentioned this same couplet, but it bares repeating: "I'm not one of those who just stares at his beer I have a few friends. It's a shame they're not here." This is a wonderfully sad Christmas song. The original word "sad" meant full of all emotions, including what we now call happiness, sadness, joy, sorrow and all the other conflicting emotions. Christmas coming at the end of the year is the perfect time for all of those reflections, and your Christmas song is very sad in the etymological infancy of the word . Those sad times now often reflect what once was very happy times. The friends no longer with us is a good point. I don't know where I'm going with this, so let me say I love the song, man.

I've always liked sad songs. Probably goes back to sitting on my grandmother's knee and listening to old songs on her gramophone. Most of those were sad.
In fact, thinking more about it, I don't think I have ever had a happy song in my own collection.
Now I'm worried.

It's a classic Country sound and is a great fit for this song! The sounds used at the start really set the tone for this! It's an excellent Christmas time song delivered with a great vocal!

I know a number of my friends who can relate to this song as they have lost their main squeeze this year. It is a sad time for them.
