That band is always fabulous.
Larry Carleton's playing is superb as always, but the most exceptional part is how he navigates the modulations using tritone substitutions. Very complex, and he's not looking at the music.
Another hero here is the arranger.
Larry has probably only played that tune about 20,000 times (as far as looking at the music)! LOL. You are right about the arrangement as well. Just spectacular. He did look while playing behind the sax solo though I noticed.
My wife asked if I had seen the dog bowl. I told her I didn't even know he could.
