Notes, I have Win 11 Home Edition and use the Windows Media Player almost daily and don't experience the problems you are having. In particular, the progress bar never becomes hidden unless I intentionally drag another window on top of it (which wouldn't make sense to do).

The size of my window also doesn't change unless I forcibly change it, it doesn't change even if I fully minimize it and then bring it back. I can even lock my screen then unlock it and it returns to the same size and location.

Does your options window look similar to mine? If so, this sounds like you have a Windows-level setting set strangely.
