I just tried out 2023 (1004) hoping to find a fix, talked about before, about utility tracks not really being "equal" to the others.

In particular, utility tracks are still not able to correctly save midi patch information. (actually they "save" it in the information listing, but the utility track doesn't play the patches except in the session you first enter them - but if you save and re-load, the utility tracks do not play any patch correctly.)

As a comparison, I tested the melody, soloist and audio track - and if midi patch is assigned (either in piano roll or # sign in notation) the patch is saved correctly, and play correctly after saving and reloading. But do the same thing on any utility track and the patch information will not correctly play after a reload.

It does not matter whether you import a midi file with patches already assigned, or if you assign them yourself - it works perfectly in the melody-soloist-audio tracks but NOT in the utility tracks.

I sure hope this can be fixed. It seems simple. As I said, the patch information is in the midi file on the utility track, so the real problem is probably that utility tracks cannot read and apply the patch change information, even though they can store it.

Or maybe I am doing something wrong? If so, anyone, please - let me know!
