Cheryl Anne—

Welcome to the BIAB Forum! It’s a great community of artists and BIAB enthusiasts, and I have no doubt you’ll enjoy your time here. Your first effort is impressive—really good song with a great message—and you have a lovely voice. So you have all the tools are your disposal.

My only advice going forward is to just keep writing, recording and sharing. I can’t tell you how much I’ve learned from others on this board, both from their comments and suggestions on my own songs, but also by listening to their songs and hearing the things they chose to do as artists from a production perspective. And folks are plenty helpful in sharing tips on how to improve your use of BIAB.

David has given you some good suggestions right off the bat that will help improve the quality of your recordings. You might also want to explore recording outside of the BIAB program using a DAW such as GarageBand, Logic Pro or similar PC software—but no rush in doing so. It gives you a little more choice and flexibility in mixing (and I think most here take that approach, though I could be wrong about that).

Most importantly, stay patient while you’re learning. I remember being quit intimidated (and quite honestly, discouraged) by the program and the whole recording process at first. And while I’ve still only barely scratched the surface of what can be achieved, the improvement over the years is measurable (and very much attributable to lots of helpful folks on this board). So stick with it!

Lastly, sorry to hear about your health battles, but glad you seem to be on the right track, and as others say making music is often the best medicine. Wishing you all the best for your continued recovery.

Hope you have a lovely holiday,

Deej
