I THINK that the lack of "focus" may well be that the lead vocal melody - the female part, moves from centre to left as it goes along in ways that don't seem to reflect anything specific. Good ears, I should be able to do something about that as well as you other suggestions. I too feel there is a collection of good stuff here, my problem is putting it all together to tell a story?  Thanks for the input.
