Hello the team,
when you close the Biab2023 application under windows, it continues to run in the background. Therefore, if we restart the loading of biab2023. We will have several biab instances of Biab in the background and this crashes the application. Please solve the problem. kindly regard

First, is there a check in this box: Options, Preferences, Allow Multiple Instances …
third up from the bottom left? This allows them in the foreground.
Second, are you running Build 1004?
EDIT: I have this checkbox On but still could not verify your report using Task Manager; BIAB is not running after I closed it.

I also cannot confirm the issue my BiaB closes properly
HP Win 11 12 gig ram, Mac mini Sonoma with 16 gig of ram, BiaB/RB 2026, Reaper 7, Harrison Mixbus 11 , Presonus Audiobox USB96

Derochette, you could also try Options, Return to Factory Settings, Most.

Doesn't happen on my system.
I tried opening 3 instances of BIAB, closing them out in the 3,2,1 sequence from newest opened to the first.
Then opened 3 instances again, closing out reverse sequence. Everything closing fine.
Please do a reset Matt suggested and post back.

Hi Matt,
I checked my settings as you advised and nothing changes on BBW64 which is still running in the background.
On the other hand with bbw32 everything works normally, that is to say that the closing is correct.

By the way, are you using a version in a language other than English? That could be helpful for them to know.

Hi Matt,
I use only the english version of biab.
For information, In my daw studio one, the Vst biab application closes correctly. So it's only the individual Biabw64 program that doesn't close properly since it continues to run in the background after the program closes

Thanks. Interestingly, I think the DAW Plugin version of BIAB calls the BIAB64 program. Anyway, I reported it so let's see.

Another user wanted to know if it might be caused by a different plug-in for the 64-bit version than the 32. I’m not sure about this since you tried returning to factory settings, but I said I would ask you.

Like you, I don't think that the vst can play a role since the factory settings do not take into account the vst at the start.

To work around the problem, after launching and quitting Biabw64 which is still running in the background, I go to the task manager of window, I remove biabw64 from the background and I can restart biabw64 again normally.

issues with VSTs can cause program to freeze, abruptly terminate and other fun stuff.
You can try to "save" your preferences and do Return to Factory: ALL and re-test. Should only take you couple of minutes, but it will give you a clue if a third party item is causing it or it is BIAB itself.

That's worth a try. Something in your setup is different from the rest of us who do not see that problem.

I thank you very much.
It is indeed the vsti Kontakt5 which prevented the correct closing of bbw64. I replaced it with the vsti/DXi: VSTi/DXi Synth coyotteWT in options/midi audio drivers Setup and the closing went normally.

Some plugins don't like when opened in several programs simultaneously. Maybe that was the cause.
