This song, Love is the Greatest Gift came to me, after I was invited to be part of a on line zoom bible study class with my friend Bernice. I signed in after much effort on my part and Bernice's, but it was so worth it. Her study was on Love. In Corinthians God tells us that He wants us to love one another. As a Christian we should try extra hard to love people, even if they are grumpy, non lovable or even if they don’t like us, we can pray. Prayer is a form of love. The only way the world will be better is if we don’t complain about what needs to happen but actually DO it. Thank you Bernice for reminding us of Gods command. That is my challenge to all of us, including myself... to Love one another. -- A special thank you to David for his suggestions on trying to use the Zoom and record directly into Band in a Box. Good song with a great message (particularly at this time of year). I'm far away from being any kind of a tech. guy, and I've never tried the method you are using with recording onto Youtube. To me, the vocal on your track seemed to be a little in front of the music. When that has happened to me in the past it's been suggestion to put a little reverb on the master track which helps to make it sound as though everyone is "in the same room" during the recording. It's something I'm still learning myself, but thought I would pass it along in case it helps. Have a Merry Christmas,

I read lyrics before listening to the music, so I wasn't expecting an uptempo number, which works quite well. The chorus is quite catchy. I would dial the vocal down a bit in the mix. (I usually have the same problem and often have to go back and fix the mix). Good, positive message, which is challenging to adhere to with cantankerous curmudgeons.

Hi Cheryl Anne...I love the message of this song and it certainly is appropriate for our world today and a great reminder in the Christmas season that love is what Christmas is all about...God loving us through Christ and us loving Him back in part by loving each other...your voice is terrific but as some have mentioned seems a bit "out front" of the track...you want your vocal to rest in the band so the entire mix sounds as if your on stage or in the studio standing at the mic with a band surrounding you...that's a challenge to be sure but it can be done with panning (movement right and left) and delay and reverb (movement forward and backward) this will give depth and width to your recordings...I hope this is helpful and not confusing...thanks for posting and have a Merry and Blessed Christmas...Dan

I enjoyed the mixing and the videos too, so nicely done.
Thank you for sharing them. My favorites were Hometown Refuge and Emerald.
Yes not sure how to do what Firesong friend suggested but I am going to print out his message and see what I can do for the next song to improve for sure.
On this song, I learned how to record into BBB using my zoom recorder. So i am learning like one thing at a time. I tried to use some of the filters, but really I did not know what to listen for. I believe I used reverb. I think all of this takes time.? But I think of it as a chance to make what I have better, to share with others.
