The father in law never me a guitar he couldn't cut the 2 strings off and fix the neck and turn it into a 'tenor' guitar. I'll have to find out the 2 strings he cuts off, but he's got 3 new guitars he bought that way, and a bunch he fished out of the township dump and refinished/rescued and hand polished after the amputation.
Hm. tenor guitar.

haha  ..! I love jazz accordion! around 1995 I composed and record La Cosa Nostra a fusion song with a accordion intro. I did it as mitigation after rent a pathetically bad movie about italian mafia which of course I didn't finish to watch. I even create an film atmosphere on audio track  . The accordion part is with MIDI guitar. Recently Mina Sambinha, recorded entirely in BIAB plus a french accordion sound for 'French accordion' sound
. As you can note I invade my BIAB with accordions.. but by own will

My B string is always in tune. It is the other 5 that are always out.
Just remember the old blues player saying: "There is no such thing as a wrong note, it's just that some sound better then others".

In spite of my earlier post and jokes at the accordians expense, I do actually like the sound. I think what gets to me sometimes is the songs that they are used in - just not my cup of tea. But a fine instrument that I wouldn't mind learning to play (but man, they can get pricey).
Re: the guitar B string - I tune mine a bit flat on purpose. What you don't want is a flat G string (if you are a man).

I commend you all on leaving the bagpipe out of this wind-bashing. BTW, I'm sure you all know that the cruelest joke in history was played over a century ago when an Irishman gave a Scotsman a bagpipe and told him it was a musical instrument.

A little late to the game but..... What's the difference between an accordion and a trampoline? You don't take your shoes off when you jump on an accordion!
