OK FWIW

"Question: Is there a setting in BiaB to force the piano up an octave to be more bright? As-is it sounds a tad dull/hidden to me."

I know you raised it but I will mention that on EVERY RT or MST piano track we used a preset called Piano Man (with minor adjustments) from Waves CLAUnplugged. It's an amazing fx for $29 especially for use on acoustic guitars and keys.

Another option is one of the many available imager fx that will widen the stereo spectrum. We use the one in Logic Pro and it can hugely enhance the sound of a piano.

Also, it's hard to imagine a DAW for which panning does not work given that panning is an absolutely essential part of mixing and thus any DAW. Surely some users of it could help you.

Thanks J&B, glad you enjoyed this. I have my hands full with music software at the moment so I won't be acquiring anything new until I can better use what I have. Regarding panning, yes, it is essential and S1 does have it, but I can't get it to work. I'm thinking it may be the Tascam Interface software that is in the loop but not sure exactly how yet.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.
