Weird story though:
While Daniel is out of town,
(which is odd for a fellow that was held prisoner, along with other Jewish notables,to ensure Jerusalem paid tribute as agreed),
Three men, presumably from the same group, are thrown into a burning pit for refusing to bow to the King's god's effigy.
They come out unscathed.
The King is converted to Judaism by the evidence of their faith.
He gives the fellows power and then
Announces that anyone who won't bow to his new god,
Will be torn limb from limb.
The trio aren't worried about the king's
trading of one deity for another,
but retaining death as coercion to ensure belief.
In that the story, sort of, mirrors the true story of Moher Theresa.
Luckily your song essays survival of the faithful, (a rarity in history and modern life), and avoids the awfulness.
I can imagine it being used in Sunday Schools.
Cool musical BIAB bed, well enhanced by your additions and a fabulous vocal. Ray...wow! now that's a response...thanks for your thoughts...I appreciate your comments about the song...your comments on the story itself are correct and incorrect in some of their aspects but this forum is not the place to write a dissertation about that (reading Daniel chapters 1-4 would clear all that up)..I do sincerely appreciate that you know and care about the account beyond the Sunday School level...I always appreciate your thoughts and comments...Cheers...Dan

What a cool groove Dan. Super vocal and that band wowser. My wife heard me playing it from upstairs and came into studio to hear. She just loved it. Five stars from the two of us..

your comments on the story itself are correct and incorrect in some of their aspects but this forum is not the place to write a dissertation about that (reading Daniel chapters 1-4 would clear all that up). I read all four of them, read the reflections too. Perhaps Daniel wasn't out of town but he wasn't "in the loop" or chose not to intervene on behalf of the persectuted. Aside from chastising the King for his treatment of the poor none of the three, nor Daniel, utter a word about the King's wrath for non believers of the "new" god. "Chapter 3 Summary In Daniel 3, Nebuchadnezzar built an image of gold, 90 x 9 feet in Dura, Babylon. He demanded worldwide worship and centered his government around honoring himself, serving his gods and worshipping the gold image. The consequence of resisting or refusing was the fiery furnace. Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah were found by certain Chaldeans refusing to worship the image, and so were thrown into fiery furnace. When entreated to worship they refused and so the furnace was made seven times hotter to the point that those who threw them in were burned alive. Miraculously Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah were delivered when an angel showed up and they were seen walking in the fire unharmed. This chapter ends with Nebuchadnezzar blessing the God of the Jews and decreeing that those who speak anything amiss against their God be cut in pieces and house be made an ash heap." from …and in his temple all cry, “Glory!” Meditations through the Word of God Cross referenced to ensure it was a fairly representative interpretation. Nope not the place for a dissertation, or discussion even, BUT there's always room to fact check when things are presented as truth. I rarely bother to raise this sort of issue but when I do I make sure I've looked into the matter before taking the step. Oh, I don't mind being wrong and had my resultant research proved me to be so I would have apologised. Nevertheless...cool melody, arrangement and performances.

Ray...again...Wow! Thanks for taking the time to read the text on which I based the song...as you can see the song was a fair representation of the biblical account (except for poetic license I took and the verses where I added my personal practical application to the story)...I agree that fact checking is a wise and prudent practice when something is put forth as "truth"...I believe the song to be true to the biblical account and to Christian doctrine concerning the "fourth man" in the fire...I'll leave the discussion at that...though I do hope that all of the songs presented on this forum are not being represented as "truth"...best regards...Dan

I knew before I hit play that I would like this! I knew it would be medium to uptempo! The subject matter just lends itself to that type of tune! This is a Southern Gospel radio hit if I've ever heard one and that's a fact! You need to shop this one around! It's radio ready with excellent production and vocals! I think this is your best yet IMO!

I knew before I hit play that I would like this! I knew it would be medium to uptempo! The subject matter just lends itself to that type of tune!
