Background:
I’m not sure what to think of this song other than another step on my journey of experimentation and growth. Two things were new for me in composing/arranging this one.
1. I pushed my limits with the 16 step MIDI sequencer in Studio One and developed a rhythm pattern involving congas and hand claps that are in and out for the duration of the song.
2. This is the first time I played my keyboard (organ voice) for the entire length of the song. It’s muted during certain phrases but it was played for the entire length of the song, much like I always do on my bass.

As for the name, I was bringing in firewood last week with pieces of this song rambling around in my head and I noticed that the cold was refreshing and crisp with not a black fly, mosquito or any other biting insect in sight smile , hence the name Enjoy the Cold.

Not sure if anyone can relate but a painter on PBS, Bob Ross used to say "Nothing wrong with happy accidents". He died back in the 90s, but the more I try to write songs the more I find that happy accidents are better than what I had planned.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.
