I think there are a few possible ways to do this.

My first try would be to type three dots after the chord on beat 4, then a comma to start the next bar followed by a chord, which will sound that chord on beat two.

If you need more control holding some instruments and not others, that’s possible by using letters after the dots. Look up Help, Rests Shots Holds. Ex. Dm7…bd holds the piano and guitar but allows the bass and drums to keep playing time.

The Chord Builder allows these without typing chords and periods.

If it’s MIDI, then the piano roll could be used. If it’s RealTracks, then the new Playable RealTracks could be helpful (if you have 2023 for Windows).
