I have a song in 4/4 that contains a 2/4 measure in the middle. Now I want to import and synchronize an audio file to it. For this I set 4 bar lines manually and the rest automatically. Unfortunately the audio editor does not react at all to the bar change. How do I get this to synchronize the audio track with only 2 beats in 2/4 time?
I'm presently experimenting to see if I can come up with a solution for you. I've got a feeling that Realband will be the way to go since this uses a different ACW from BIAB. Realband's ACW allows bar time signature changes. (Because the ACW is different, though, it will probably seem confusing if you are familiar with BIAB's ACW.)
In the meantime, I suggest that you go to the forum below and ask PG Music to create a video on how to use Realband's ACW and include a demonstration of a song that has a change in time signatures. There is no video on this topic yet and I believe the Realband community would appreciate it.
Genos Keyboarder, I don't use the Audio Chord Wizard but I think there are two audio chord wizards (old and newer) now in BIAB. Please tell us which one you are using by giving the steps to load it.
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.
I am in BIAB not Realband. I have figured it out for myself now. Maybe the programmers missed something, but the time signature is not transferred from the chords to the audio editor. It does not appear in the chord view of the audio editor. But you can help it manually by opening the menu on the user bar line of the 2/4 bar with the right mouse button and setting the number of beats to 2. But then you have to move the start of the next 4/4 bar forward by half and set the beats to 4 again, so that it fits for the following bars. Very cumbersome, but it works. Would be nicer, of course, if the programmers would automate this. Also the missing display in the audio editor chord view would be very helpful.

To get the correct synchronization, set all of the bars manually. If the first 4 bars are 4/4 time signature and you select the ACW to automatically set the remaining bars, they will be 4/4 and miss the 2/4 bars.
I think it would be quite difficult for the ACW to automatically identify 2/4 bars interspersed within a 4/4 musical passage (or any other time signature combination).
You would need to manually set the bar(s) that are 2/4 and then set the following bar(s) back to 4/4.
Remember, the ACW is a Chord Wizard, and is interpreting Chords, not time signatures.

@AudiTrack This is not right! If you activate the ACW button in the audio editor, you have the possibility to set bar lines and to use "equalize tempos". And only there. Of course, this also serves to correctly assign the chords to the bars, but it can do much more.
But now to the problem: In the pictures you can see how in bar 20 the 2/4 are displayed (only in the chrod view), but in the audio view the time signature change is not displayed.
A reasonable response. You have a valid point. What did the PGM company support people advise? If not already done, I suggest to contact them for advice. After all, it's their program. I'm only an unpaid end-user, like you

Yes, there is the Wishlist Forum. I think it works best when you did what you did here, make a post to ask questions. Sometimes what people think is a bug or a missing feature is just a case where the user did not know something. Once we work the questions, it may be revealed that it is indeed a bug or a missing feature. Those are handled differently.
But have we reached that point?

What happens if you select bar 20 in the chord view, press function key <F5> and set the number of beats to 2, and then set bar 21 back to 4 beats using the same method?

I'm still a little confused. There are two images. The first one includes the chord and audio views and it shows the bar of 2/4 in the audio but not in the chord view.
The second image is only the chord view, and shows bar 20 as 2/4 but there is no audio view to compare it to.
For consistency, can you show the bottom image to include the audio window, the same as the top image?

The reason I suggested considering Realband in my earlier post is because Realband's ACW seems to handle changing time signatures whereas BIAB's ACW does not. I suspect that this is because RB's time signatures are quite differently programmed from BIAB's. For example, 5/4 in RB is a proper 5/4 time signature whereas BIAB uses 3/4 and 2/4 to emulate 5/4.
The graphic below shows that when I right-click on the timeline of Realband's ACW, I am given the option to change the time signature of a specific bar. BIAB's ACW does not do that.
If you open ACW in Realband, you'll see that it's a more comprehensive version of the ACW found in earlier versions of BIAB. I was going to investigate this to see how it works and give Genos Keyboarder some insights if I could. After s/he indicated that that wasn't necessary, though, I haven't gone any further with it. I'm curious about it, though, and I will get to it one day but right now, I don't have time.
Hi Noel, Hope you're keeping well. Thanks for your insights, and excellent suggestion that RealBand may handle this better. I agree with your hypothesis.
I was interested to find out what happens in ACW if bar 20 from the Chord view is changed to 2 beats. Is the change then reflected in the ACW/Audio view. Perhaps changing it in audio view doesn't update the chord settings but it should. Perhaps it gets back to the 'all tracks are equal' item that is still reaching maturity.
Anyway, to the O/P, RealBand might deliver the goods a little better. Trev

I have a few songs that are 4/4 and have a couple of bars of 2/4. I loaded a wav of one of these into BIAB and changed the bars to 2/4 at the appropriate places in the song. I then opened ACW. The bar changes that I set on the chord sheet were not reflected in ACW. I might have missed something, but I played around for a bit but couldn't find a way to make it happen. That was when I discovered the possibilities of Realband.
