I wonder if anyone is aware of any free Steel Guitar sounds for Sforzando or VSTi for DAWs.

It seems to be very few Steel Guitar plugins available.

I have found a Pedal Steel from Impact Soundworks (Kontakt player) and one from Ample Sound but they are both very expensive.

I found some Resonator Guitars GM from Band in a Box sounds playable realtrack in Sforzando but I need a little bit more "Steel" in it.

The only free one I have found is DSK Steel Guitar but that one does not sound good at all.

I only need it for one song as for know so I don't want to spend to much on it.

BIAB 2026, Studio Pro 8, Song Master Pro, Win11 Home. i7-9700K CPU, 32GB, ESI MAYA44eX, ZOOM UAC-2, Guitar Pro 8, Transcribe, (EZKeys2, EZD3, SD3, EZBass, EZMix3)

IMHO the best sounding lap steel guitar is Indiginus's

https://www.indiginus.com/the-steel-electric-lap-steel-guitar

although it is on the expensive side, but well worth the money.

If you can't find one maybe you could send me your song and I will add the steel part for you.

{edit} there are steel players in the forums and maybe they can help also.

Back in my day the only time we started panic buying was when the bartender shouted "last call"!

Actually I bought BB because it has such great steel guitar real tracks in it. I had looked at the vsts and determined they were not going to be good enough. To emulate the steel guitar with a vst you have to understand how a steel player thinks and plays and you have to be fairly proficient with the keyboard.

Nope. It's real tracks for me.

This is my latest song with the BB steel guitar real tracks

+1 Herb. Because of the half steps and whole steps involved with bending the way a pedal steel player does with the knee and foot levers you really can't do it well on a keyboard. My Roland has a good sounding pedal steel patch but you can't hold down G-Bb-D and bend JUST the Bb up to B natural to change a G minor to a G major.

I agree with Mario... Indiginus's "The Steel" is among the best out there. Don't let the "Lap Steel" description fool you. It does and sounds just like a pedal steel.

As for price, seems I remember paying $60 for it. In my mind this is very cheap for something that sounds so good.

Be aware that you'll need the full version of Kontakt to use this instrument.

Yep. Well, not actually tried them..... but after watching the demo video..... uhhhhh no way! That requires a whole different skill set that starts with a fair level of proficiency on the piano/electronic keyboard. I need something now that sounds professional, and real tracks fit that bill.
