song generation is done on-the-fly on PG Music cloud servers. audio stems are streamed to BIAB client in real-time and routed through the mixer just like before.

Interesting ideas that are based on fast internet access that is consistent.
I prefer to work on a computer that isn't linked to the internet at all. I've had to start from scratch too many times due to viruses and other corruption that came down the line so don't & won't work online.
Your suggestion would also open the way for PG to make BIAB subscription based - another thing I, personally, won't countenance. I stayed with the BIAB 2011 set up for quite a few years and only changed to a more recent model when my needs changed.
Cloud storage etc is very modern, very much a marketing dream for some companies and very, very BAD for the environment. Check out the BBC Panorama investigation into the water & electricity use and heat given off by the clouds actuality ie: HUGE data storage units on the ground.
PANORAMA Cloud
Food for thought indeed.

I would rather just use the wma as I can't hear any difference. I still use the 32 bit version of Biab, if I need to use a 64bit plugin I just use JBridge in it as it works fine, I can't really see the purpose of the 64bit version. If I need to use a DAW I always choose PowerTracks for any editing I can't do in Biab, but hey that's just me.

>Just for curiosity, does that mean that you could provide a 24-bit version? In other words, it would not be an upsampled one, but the original files because they were recorded in 24-bit (or better)? I don't believe that answer was ever known to us.

Matt,
Yes, it would be possible. And a good idea.

The only reason I can see for being not bothered and making do with 44.1 16bit is the storage size.
Wavepack as show below @48khz/24bit is smaller than your current 44.1khz/16bit files.
If you are saying that wavepack is a non standard format that's irrelevant as it's only Biab that is opening it, and Biab renders to wav wma m4a mp3.
It's like saying kontakt should not use it's non standard formats.
I can import wavepack into more DAW's than wma. Adobe Audio used wma but I had to get Reaper to implement it.
I can understand that you would have to do some programming for Biab to read wavepack and that may be the reason for not being bothered.
So a Wavepack 48khz/24bit Audiophile edition would be smaller than the current wav edition.
I have seen you arguing like crazy that a 64bit version is not needed as JBridge works fine, this went on for ages with masses of users wanting the 64bit version, but no, it's the same reasoning. It's not a baffling mystery why Biab has been so far behind is it ?
The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
Honestly if I couldn't be bothered back in 2009 and just left here and gave up what would you have now and where would you be, there are just so many features and function you have now in Biab to make things so much easy for users than what I had at the time. All this has taken me a hell of a lot of time and work posting videos, pics, examples of things actually working.
Just don't take it all that for granted, give me some respect, just don't ignore and blow it off as nothing important.

Was it just me? I couldn't even tell the difference between a WAV and an MP3...

Just like for a same image, I couldn't tell the difference between a JPG and a PNG...

If one has to ask for respect then both sides lose.
MusicVillain,
Many folk can't tell the difference between formats but that is likely more due to the reproduction/playing/viewing equipment than the storage format. A mobile phone with cheap earbuds, the common listening gear of the day, won't repro much difference.

I went looking for a Plugin to add to Biab that will take loops and samples with simple drag n drop. I found Audiomodern loopmix, yes "modern" you can drag n drop loops, change pitch, volume etc.. I had a look at the sample library and I fell off the floor as they are 24bit 48khz.
