It was a good run over the past 5 years or so getting all those free plugins.

I purchased my 18i20 before that date so I'm not sure if I'll be able to download it. If anyone else gets the software, let us know here if you like it.

My Sweetwater card had a zero balance for waaaay too long now. I've had the first gen 18i20 for 8 years. Thought I would upgrade my preamps and ordered the Clarett+ 8 Pre. Once I get that, I'll check out those Hitmaker Expansion plug-ins listed above.

I can't be the only one wondering who Morales was and why his name shows as a responding user but he is "no longer in the database". I didn't think it was possible to just disown a user this way.
I can't be the only one wondering who Morales was.
I reported the user. He was linking some "how to export tiktok videos" in his posts. I googled the link and some of those variations were to malicious overseas websites. So my fault.

The 3rd gen gear uses the CL 192kHz/24 bit “Fast USB 2” chips that have been out since late 2019. So is nearly everyone else but the new gear is head and shoulders above what came before. Integrating the mic pres, DAC, ‘phone amps, DIs etc. onto a single chip results in RTL (round trip latency) being close to the theoretical minimum.

Good info, thanks Mike. With the old Scarlett I was unable to achieve 24 bit rec./playback in Win11. I don't require that, but it's nice to have better capabilities. With my luck 4th gen devices will cone out next month.

Or in time for NAMM in April. I’m a member but probably won’t go this year.
About the only thing that would interest me in anybody’s 4th gen is 32 bit float and the promise of no longer being able to overdrive Input levels while tracking. My portable recorders do it and signals just do not clip.
I’ve been working 32 bit float inside my DAW for a couple years now. Whenever someone goes on and on (and on and on) about why it’s not necessary, my counter is that I have greatly increased headroom in my tracks and that it saves time while mixing. Next? I normally bounce to 24 bit but that’s ok.

Got the new Clarett today! Looks like they don't have to modify the case and components too much between models, they are the same size. Learning the Focusrite Control software now, not too bad for a software mixer.
