You might be thinking of the option in Opt | Preferences | Arrange -> "First bar gets a drum crash". That is unchecked by default.
You can prevent drum fills from playing at a part marker by pressing F5 (bar settings) on the bar before the part marker and unchecking "Allow Fills".
If however you want a drum fill but just don't want the crash symbol, I suggest regenerating just those bars a couple times until you get a drum fill that doesn't have it (typically only some of the available fills include a crash)
