Here's the Moveable Audio Edit. It should not be hard to implement. You can have an option to display multitrack or single track. It will also have vertical zoom.
Band in a Box has the Moveable, sizable Audio Edit Window. MultiTrack is likely coming in the future but a Moveable Audio Edit Window is here now.
