I called her and said: “I have a title. Beer and a Bible.” “How does it go?” “I got a beer and a Bible and it’s just about all I need.” “What else?” “Hmmm. Wailin' about Waylon with wounded rhymes in a talkie set of verses works and the chorus is solidly familiar and friendly.

Love the glimpse on your writing process with Rachel . . . that’s true partnership . . . because you started with just a line and built a wonderful, fully rich lyric. It’s a great hook and you do it justice in all respects. Nice arrangement, solid mix. Not sure why, but this reminds me a bit of the Counting Crows. Good stuff!

On the other hand, Jesus did make wine by the barrel.
