March to the Gallows

The title says it all.

Warning this is a very dark ambient/trance song that some may not like.

BiaB style = Ambiention - Electronic
Tempo = 40 BPM

Bass - Kontakt- Karanyi sounds - Analog Tales - preset - FR Bass Distort
Piano - Kontakt- Karanyi sounds - Polyscape - preset - 14 Reed Sweeper Wide2
Guitar - Kontakt - Loop De La Creme - preset - 10 Clean Strings Choir Emotion - I modified the sound to my liking.
Drums - Kontakt - RA Stompbox - preset - 15 the Big Impact

Me via my keyboard controller:
EastWest - Play - Symphonic Choir - Sopranos
Kontakt - RKlang Glling
Kontakt - Gongs

As always all comments are welcomed.

I like the title.
A very sombre mood well described.
The ending left me dangling.

Cheers

The title does say it all.
I was expecting the 1st chord change to happen sooner but then it made sense.

In Iran, the hangman is still hanging today.
If you ever visit, don't get caught robbing someone or you may hear this song with tied hands.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Very nice.

I was trying to figure something out. It sounded like some of the tracks were using a swing groove and others were even. And in several places in the song, I couldn't figure out which one it was. Maybe that was just me and how I was hearing it..... The drums that started it were in a swing groove and then the music sounded even.... this continued throughout. Not too distracting.... but little things like that stick out to me.

I thought it was just a tad too long.... but again that's just a personal opinion

Ray that dangling ending was on purpose, much like what happens at the end of the march.

Thanx for being brave and listening and commenting on this one!

Thanx Steve. You will never see me visiting Iran or any other extreme Muslim country. Also include a communist country and Mexico to that list!

I tried to emphasize the difference between the police/guards taking the prisoner to the gallows. The police/guards were the drums and the other rhythmic parts the criminal, i.e. happy verses sad. Maybe I didn't get what I intended?

Yes, it probably is to long.

Thanx for listening and commenting.

Warning this is a very dark ambient

The visual I got was March to the Gallows of the Warlock King.

Great cinematic backing.

This must have been a very important criminal to have such a march. Those drums call the whole town to join to see the justice. Man, you are so good at this, Mario. What a treat to hear your stories in such fine sounds that lift all kind of emotions from your listeners. I would expect a dirge to the gallows, but that would be from the prisoner's perspective. Now a New Orleans funeral march is quite different. Well done!!

Enjoy whatever happens!

Mario.
Great atmospheric piece.
There’s also an interesting rhythmical contrast going on like a heart fluttering.

Thanx Marty. I try to set moods with my songs that each listener can interpret their own way. With BiaB, MIDI, and a set of good MIDI sounds one can do wonders IMHO.
